Getting started

There is a formal process that must be adhered to for getting officially married in Australia, which can be found on the Australian Government’s Get married section of the Attorney General’s website.

The first thing to organise is your Certified Marriage Celebrant.

Having married over a thousand happy couples, Christine Amor CMC is extremely qualified to take care of this process for you so that you are aware of all the requirements and timeframes and can plan the ceremony of your dreams.

Christine Amor will work with you on which documents you will need to obtain before the forms are completed and take care of lodging the forms for you.

From that point on, your celebrant can guide you through the requirements for documentation and the ceremony itself.

The Queensland Government website has more information on their requirements.

The most important form is the Notice of Intention of Marriage must be completed and lodged by your celebrant one month before the date of your ceremony.

If you wish to be married at a Gold Coast City beach or park, such as the Gold Coast Regional Botanical Gardens, you must visit the Gold Coast City Council’s page on Park weddings, where you will also need to complete and lodge a form to book the event.
