The Sand Ceremony

After sealing your relationship by the giving and the receiving of rings, a sand ceremony can be performed. The relationship is symbolised through the pouring of two individual containers of sand are poured into a third container to be joined together as one.

The Hand Ceremony

The couple faces each other, and hold hands with palms up, to see the gift that these hands are to you. A beautiful speech speaks of the importance of the symbolism of the support these hands will bring to each of you throughout your marriage.

Ring Warming Ceremony

The couple’s family and friends take a moment to hold the wedding rings of the bride and groom to warm them with their love, making a silent wish that will carry them into a bright and lasting marriage.

Circling Ceremony

The ritual of casting a circle made of family and friends around the bride and groom symbolises the couple being in a sacred space. Like most rituals and symbolism, the circle can be developed to a deeper level, depending on the spiritually and beliefs of the couple.

Releasing of Doves

Doves mate for life, and raise their young in the nest together. Doves symbolise peace and freedom, and faith, hope, and love. Releasing a pair of white doves by the bride and groom symbolises their embarking on a journey together; a flock of doves symbolise the support of their family and friends being carried through the couple’s lives together.

The Time Capsule

The couple places their personal vows into a time capsule or box with two bottles of their favourite beverage.
It is sealed and to be opened on an anniversary, where you will read your love letters for the first time and toast your commitment to one another.
